Brain Metastasis

Brain metastases arise within systemic cancers but evolve under distinct selective pressures imposed by the brain microenvironment, local therapy, and prior systemic treatment. Their biology cannot be fully inferred from the primary tumor alone.

We are developing longitudinal and matched primary–brain metastasis cohorts to study clonal evolution, extrachromosomal DNA, cellular states, immune context, and treatment resistance across disease sites and time. Our work integrates archival and prospectively acquired specimens with genomics, single-cell and spatial assays, imaging, and structured clinical annotation.

A parallel computational effort is developing interoperable atlases and multimodal models that can support cross-institutional studies and, ultimately, clinical decision support.

Longitudinal integration of primary tumors, brain metastases, clinical timelines, and multimodal profiling maps metastatic evolution across space and time.
