The Diaz Lab is committed to rigorous interdisciplinary training at the interface of computation, genomics, cancer biology, and translation. Former laboratory members have advanced to leadership positions in biotechnology, faculty roles, postdoctoral fellowships, and PhD programs in the United States and internationally.
Sören Müller
Sören was a postdoctoral scholar in the Diaz Lab and led foundational studies of glioma cellular states and
the tumor immune microenvironment. Sören is now Director of Oncology Bioinformatics at Genentech.
Lin Wang
Lin was a postdoctoral scholar in the Diaz Lab and led longitudinal single-cell studies of glioblastoma evolution under therapy. After serving as an Assistant Professor at City of Hope, Lin joined Peking Union Medical College/Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences as an Associate Professor.
Husam Babikir
Husam was a postdoctoral scholar in the Diaz Lab and studied epigenetic regulation and tumor composition in IDH-mutant glioma. Husam now works in AI biology at CFDX/Prima Mente in London.
Owen Hoare
Owen was a postdoctoral scholar in the Diaz Lab and contributed to pediatric brain-tumor immunotherapy and lineage-tracing studies. Owen is now a Postdoctoral Researcher at Institut Curie in France.
Abhinav Jain
Abhinav was a postdoctoral scholar in the Diaz Lab and studied medulloblastoma cellular states and spatial organization.
Francisca Catalan
Francisca was a research associate in the Diaz Lab and developed computational workflows for single-cell and longitudinal glioma studies. Francisca is now a PhD student at UC Berkeley.
Karin Shamardani
Karin was a research associate in the Diaz Lab and contributed to computational studies of glioma evolution and therapeutic response. Karin is now a PhD student at UCSF.
Beatriz Alvarado
Beatriz was a research associate in the Diaz Lab and contributed to early single-cell studies of glioma cellular states and immune composition. Beatriz subsequently completed PhD training at UCSF.
